It's a two-page letter written in 1960 to Hollywood producer Barnett Glassman and may be in reference to a planned film, ultimately never made, on Luciano's life. In full: "Dear Barney, I want you to know that after you left, that party from Rome came to see me. I told him why you was looking for him, so I gave him one, now, if you should see him before you see me, there is only one hundred coming to him. My best to your wife. I would like to know if the lawyers are going to do something, in suing. Take care of yourself." Lightly creased. Nicked at lower edge. Folds, horizontal fold touches signature. BARNETT GLASSMAN was a Hollywood producer. In 1959, he met with Martin A. Gosch, an independent film producer, and they agreed in a deal to put together a film based on Luciano's life. However, in 1960, Tommy Eboli flew into Naples and warned Charlie that his friends in New York were not happy about the project and wanted it shelved, permanently. This letter to movie producer Barney Glassman may be about Eboli ("that party from Rome") and the film based on Luciano's life. The reference to "lawyers" and "suing" may be a reference to the film not being made. In 1961, Luciano and Gosch reached another agreement. Instead of a film, there would be a book.
